ZANELE CONTINUES TO INSPIRE
The 28-year-old Zanele Mthimunye is currently working in one of the reputable medical lab in South Africa, Pathcare lab. She is a qualified phlebotomist. Quality of work she produces remains of highquality and It was not surprising when the society of Medical Technologist in South Africa acknowledged her dedication and hard work by awarding her with prestigious award, “2017Best Phlebotomist”, during the Medical Conference In Durban 2017. And she was the first black young woman to have ever receive such award.
Zanele’s journey has not been easy, her mom passed away when she just finished her grade 12 due to heart failure. This young a lady was shuttered at the same time she had to be strong for her siblings. She had to look for a job to assist her dad who is a taxi driver to take care of her six siblings. She, however did not give up. Her mom passing became source of inspiration to study to became a phlebotomist so she can assist other people to discover anything that might be wrong or harmful to their health as early as possible.
Lat year,on 28 June 2018, she was announced among top influential 200 young South African – An initiated by the Mail & Guardian “The Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans for 2018’.
And as if that is not enough, the president of Society of medical technologist in South Africa ( SMLTSA), Carol Massyn has invited Zanele to give a presentation during the medical conference well known as SMLTSA Mini congress in Porth Elizabeth, end of June 2018.
Zanele has always wanted to contribute to the proactive development of human potential and continue to inspire young people. Her role as managing director of the Ultimate NGO called “Role Models” which consist of business and community leaders, allows her to achieve this goal. Zanele and her team have partnered with Richfield Academy, to fund three students to further their studies with Richfield academy and today these three are qualified computer technicians.TheNGO was launched in the North-West and hosted numerous event in Mafikeng

Zanele does not put all her eggs in one basket. She is also a young business woman and a fashion lover. Her love and passion for fashion made her decide to invest her savings and open a fashion boutique for women, Glam spot Emporium Beauty Bar situated in Porth Elizabeth and she also has an online store too.
Zanele has also dedicated her life to teach learners and teachers about the importance of donating blood.Furthermore, she hosts female motivational talk in schools or dedicating her time to the local charity, Sithabile orphanage home, in East Rand, to donate food and clothes for the needy.
It is during these talks that she was motivated to register and study to become a psychologist after realizing the need of psychologists in various disadvantaged communities.
“This is my second year of study, I can’t say is easy being a student, bread winner and running a business which is self funded.But I know all these hardship will pay one day”
she is found at UNISA library where she is doing her second degree, in Psychology.
Currently, busy shooting a reality show called Ster-status- an initiative will don a new coat in the shape of a reality show, STER-STATUS, which will be broadcast every Monday at 18h00, from 5 August 2019, on VIA (channel 147). The goal of this reality competition is to prepare young women (millennials) for a life in the limelight by introducing them to the entertainment industry through workshops, training sessions and various other challenges. After each phase of the competition, participants who didn’t make the grade will be eliminated. Although there can only be one winner, all participants will benefit from the experience as they will get exposure across various social platforms, learn about styling, build relationships with industry experts, make a difference through charitable work, and have the opportunity to act as brand ambassadors.
Her source of Inspiration is her late mother who taught her that she could achieve anything she puts her minds to. Her dream is to have her own psychology practice, run her successful boutique in different provinces and also start a foundation to help those who are in same position.
Last year December Zanele surprised her dad with a car to say thank you for being a great dad and played a mother figure at same time .
