Vodacom Took Tholukuthi Hey Concert On The NXT LVL This Past Weekend!

The Tholukuthi Hey concert hosted in collaboration with Vodacom NXT LVL at Zone 6, Soweto, this past weekend saw music heavyweights like DJ Cleo, DJ Tira, Nomuzi Mabena, Morena, pH, Capital and Lerato Kganyago performing while Pearl Thusi MCd the event. The concert was a brain child of DJ Euphonik who discovered Killer Kau and Mbali whose hit single Tholukuthi Hey has been rocking the socials for the past 2 weeks.  DJ Euphonik took 2 ordinary school kids who uploaded armature videos of themselves singing the now famous Tholukuthi Hey lyrics and turned them into super stars.

The concert was initially meant to be held at ICON SOWETO, a venue that would have accommodated about 600 people but due to popular demand and the support Vodacom NXT LVL it was moved to ZONE 6 in Soweto, a venue that houses a whopping 3000 people.

The song is a hit and has become a spring board for young Killer Kau and Mbali. Vodacom NXT LVL is all about providing platforms for exposure for the youth. So, we had to come in and support this initiative. Even better, Euphonik is a mentor in our upcoming “THE NXT LVL” TV show that will premiere in October. It only made sense that we get involved,” says Veli Mabena, EHOD Brand & communications at Vodacom.

The concert was streamed LIVE on YouTube from 12am on Sunday allowing Vodacom users to use their #MegYourDay data to stream for free.
