On 3 May 2025, at Cape Town Fashion Week, Molteno Couture will debut a groundbreaking collection that celebrates body positivity, inclusivity, and client-led design – redefining what luxury means in South African fashion.
Known for dressing some of Cape Town’s most prominent women, Rose’s approach to couture is deeply personal: “You’re the star, not me. I’m here to help your natural beauty shine through,” says the designer. Rather than designing for an idealized runway figure, Molteno Couture creates custom gowns for real women – embracing all body shapes, backgrounds, and styles.
This year’s collection is a bold departure from traditional fashion week fare, featuring one-of-a-kind bridal, evening, and Matric dance gowns that are co-created with clients, reflecting their individuality and empowering them to feel confident, radiant, and fearless.
“For too long, fashion has told women they need to change to fit a dress. At Molteno Couture, we create dresses that fit and celebrate the woman exactly as she is,” says Rose, whose inclusive philosophy has made her one of Cape Town’s most beloved designers.
