Shop over 750 brands from the Streets of Italy

South Africa’s discerning luxury consumers can now shop at 150 luxury boutiques on the streets of Italy via Italist, the world’s largest online shopping portal fully dedicated to selling the world’s luxury brands from Italy’s luxury multi-brand independent fashion retailers.

This is according to Italist CEO, Diego Abba, who was in South Africa this week toannounce the company’s presence in South Africa.

He says that without leaving their homes, both men and women will now be able to shop at some of Italy’s most beautiful stores, which have only ever been accessible to South Africans who actually travel overseas and visit the boutiques on the streets of Italy.

“Now luxury lovers can conveniently shop for the broadest selection of luxury clothes, shoes and accessories from over 150 premium multi-brand retailers, via the Italist online marketplace,” he says.

“On Italist.com the South African luxury shopper will now have access to a wide selection of exclusive products from some of the world’s top luxury brands such as Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Celine, Givenchy, Gucci, Missoni, to the most current designers such as Off-White, Golden Goose and Mary Katrantzou selected from top luxury multi-brand stores.”

Furthermore, Italist provides consumers with access to limited edition offerings that are almost impossible to find anywhere else except for in the physical stores in a few cities in Italy.

Through Italist, consumers can also enjoy very competitive prices on their purchases, which are priced the same as they would be when purchasing these goods from luxury boutiques along the streets of Italy, but with a better assortment and at lower prices than the rest of the world.

“In creating Italist, we wanted to revolutionise the luxury shopping experience for everyone around the world, where they can conveniently browse and purchase premium goods through this one-stop marketplace,” says Diego Abba, Co-Founder and CEO of Italist. “Seeing as how South Africa and Africa has one of the largest potential e-commerce markets, coupled with the ever growing love for designer products, we saw this as an opportunity to establish our presence in SA to fill the gap in the online market for luxury products.”

“With all the different aspects of Italist put together, consumers are able to get the full Italian shopping experience conveniently through their digital devices,” adds Abba. Coupled with the ease of use and large inventory of luxury goods on the portal, we’re sure local consumers will be excited to shop with us.”

Through the understanding that the purchase of luxury goods is more of an experience rather than just a mere transaction, Italist plans to continually add new design elements to its portal to best mimic the shopping experience one would get in boutiques along the streets.

The platform also has a 24/7 customer support feature, where customers can be assisted live during the browsing and purchasing process.

Since Italist launched two years ago, the brand has grown exponentially and is now available in more than 85 countries with over 750 luxury brands currently on the platform. “This highlights both the site’s credibility and the demand for an online marketplace for luxury goods,” Abba concludes.
